What Is Your Soul Worth?

"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Mark 8:36–37

Jesus takes the math to its logical extreme.

What if you achieved everything? Every goal, every dollar, every dream. What if you owned the whole world?

He says it is still a terrible trade if it costs you your soul.

The question is not really about wealth. It is about value.

What is a soul worth?

You can answer that question by looking at what God was willing to pay for it.

The Son of God endured the wrath of God, not for gold or influence, but for you.

That tells you everything about the value of a single human soul.

Whatever you are chasing, whatever deal you are tempted to make with your time, your integrity, or your devotion, run the math.

The world will one day burn.

Everything in it is temporary. Your soul is not.

And Jesus already proved exactly what it is worth.

Evaluate your current priorities.

Are any of your pursuits quietly costing you spiritually? What would it look like to invest in what is eternal this week?

Prayer:

Father, forgive me for the times I have traded eternal things for temporary ones. Help me see my soul, and the souls of those around me, the way You see them. May I live like eternity matters. In Jesus' name, Amen.
