The Betrayer Among Us

"And Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him."
Mark 3:19

The most sobering name on the list comes last. Judas reminds us that religious activity without a transformed heart leads to spiritual disaster.

Judas had everything the other disciples had: access to Jesus, miraculous power, authority to cast out demons, and the ability to preach the gospel. For three years, he looked like a faithful follower.

Yet his heart was never truly surrendered to Christ.

This serves as a warning for all of us. Church attendance, Bible knowledge, and even ministry involvement are not proof of salvation.

The question isn't how long you've been in church or what you've done in Jesus's name.

The question is whether you have a heart that truly belongs to Him.

Jesus chose Judas knowing he would betray Him because the Scriptures had to be fulfilled.

Because even sin can be used for God's glory.

Because religious action without heart transformation is ultimately empty.

Examine your heart honestly. Are you following Jesus out of genuine love and faith, or out of habit, family tradition, or social expectation?

Make sure your relationship with Christ is real.

Prayer:

Lord, search my heart and know my thoughts. If there are any areas where I'm just going through religious motions, reveal them to me. I want a genuine relationship with You, not just religious activity. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Amen.
