Listen With Your Heart

"If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear. And He was saying to them, 'Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides.’"
Mark 4:23–24

In our noisy world filled with endless voices competing for our attention, learning to truly listen to God's voice becomes a matter of spiritual survival.

Jesus emphasizes the critical importance of how we listen.

He's not just talking about hearing sounds with our ears. He's talking about listening with understanding, with intention, and with a heart ready to obey.

The phrase "take care what you listen to" is a warning and an invitation.

What we choose to focus on shapes our spiritual growth.

When we truly listen to God's Word and apply it to our lives, He promises to give us even more understanding and blessing.

But if we ignore His voice or listen carelessly, we risk losing even what we think we have.

This is why regular time in Scripture and prayer is not optional for the believer.

Set aside 10 minutes today for intentional listening.

Read a passage of Scripture slowly, asking God to speak to you through it. Write down what you hear Him saying to your heart.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, quiet the noise around me and within me so I can hear Your voice clearly. Help me to listen not just with my ears, but with my heart. Give me wisdom to discern Your truth from the world's distractions. Amen.
