Stewardship Starts With What God Has Given

“For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.”
Mark 4:25

Jesus is not praising greed. He is teaching stewardship.

In this part of Mark, Jesus speaks about hearing, receiving, and responding to God’s Word.

The person who welcomes truth, obeys it, and uses it well grows deeper. God gives more understanding, more fruit, and more strength for the next step.

But the person who ignores truth, neglects it, or treats it lightly begins to lose even the little he seemed to have.

That is how stewardship works in the spiritual life.

God has entrusted each of us with something, His Word, time, gifts, opportunities, resources, and influence.

None of it is random. None of it is ours by right. It is all a trust from His hand.

Faithful stewardship means we do not waste what God gives.

We use it. We act on it. We walk in the light we have already received.

If God has shown you truth in Scripture, obey it. If He has opened a door to serve, step through it. If He has given you a chance to encourage someone, speak.

Spiritual maturity does not grow through good intentions alone. It grows through faithful action.

Often we want God to give us more while we neglect what He has already placed in front of us.

But growth comes when we handle today’s trust with care. As we stay faithful in small things, God shapes us for greater things.

So ask yourself today: am I stewarding God’s gifts well? Am I growing in grace and truth, or letting spiritual neglect dull my heart?

Faithfulness matters. What we do with what God gives us matters.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for every good gift You have placed in my life. Help me to be faithful with Your Word, my time, my gifts, and every opportunity You give me. Teach me to obey what I know, so I may grow in grace and bring You glory. Amen.
