He Speaks Your Language

"Jesus took him aside from the crowd, by himself, and put His fingers into his ears, and after spitting, He touched his tongue with the saliva."
Mark 7:33 

You have never been just another face in the crowd to Jesus.  

When a deaf man was brought to Him, Jesus did not wave His hand from a distance or announce a healing from the stage.  

He pulled the man aside. One on one.  

And then He communicated in a way that a deaf man could actually understand: finger in the ear, a touch of the tongue, a glance toward heaven.  

Ancient sign language for a man who had never heard a word. 

That is who Jesus is. He could demand you learn His language. He could require you to come to Him on His terms alone.  

But He chose to meet this man where he was. He still does the same for you.  

Whatever you are walking through today, Jesus is not watching from a distance.  

He is near, speaking directly into your situation in a way you can receive. 

Notice something else: the man did not find Jesus. Friends carried him to Jesus.  

Sometimes the greatest gift we give someone is simply getting them in front of the Savior. 

Think of one person in your life who needs to be "carried" to Jesus this week. Send them a message, invite them to church, or simply pray for them by name today. 

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for not keeping Your distance. You see me, You know my language, and You meet me where I am. Give me the courage to bring others close to You the way this man's friends did. In Jesus' name, Amen.
