"And He went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him.” 
Mark 3:13

Ever wonder why Jesus picked fishermen over scholars? Why He chose ordinary people instead of the religious elite? 

Jesus didn't climb that mountain and randomly point at people. He spent an entire night in prayer, carefully considering each person He would call.  

The phrase "whom He Himself wanted" carries profound weight. This wasn't about filling positions or meeting quotas.  

Jesus wanted these specific men, knowing their personalities, their flaws, and their potential. 

The same is true for you today.  

God doesn't call you because you're perfect or because you have all the right credentials.  

He calls you because He wants you.  

He knows your quirks, your strengths, your weaknesses, and He still chooses to use you for His purposes.  

The religious leaders of Jesus's day had the pedigree, the education, and the social standing, but they missed the heart of God.  

Jesus chose ordinary people who would be extraordinary in their faithfulness. 

Write down three ways God has used ordinary moments in your life for His glory. Thank Him for choosing you, flaws and all.

Lord, thank You for wanting me on Your team. Help me remember that Your choice isn't based on my performance but on Your grace. Use me today in ways that bring glory to Your name. Amen.
