The Point Of No Return
"Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin.”
Mark 3:28-29
Jesus stopped everything to address one accusation. When they attributed His Spirit-led ministry to Satan, they crossed a dangerous line.
All sins can be forgiven through repentance and faith in Christ.
Murder, adultery, theft, even blasphemy against Jesus can be forgiven.
But there's one exception: attributing the clear work of the Holy Spirit to Satan.
This isn't about accidentally saying something wrong. It's about seeing the obvious work of God and deliberately calling it evil.
When someone becomes so hardened that they can't distinguish between God's work and Satan's work, they've rejected the very Spirit who draws people to salvation.
The terrifying reality is that this sin is committed with words.
The religious leaders saw Jesus' ministry, witnessed His power over demons, and concluded it was satanic.
They had all the evidence they needed but chose to reject it.
If you feel the Holy Spirit convicting you of sin or drawing you to Christ, don't resist.
Today is the day of salvation.
Tomorrow's opportunity isn't guaranteed.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I never want to grieve or resist You. Keep my heart tender toward Your voice. If I've been stubborn or rebellious, forgive me and soften my heart. Help me recognize Your work in my life and respond with faith and obedience. Don't let pride or fear keep me from Your grace. Amen.
