When Proof Is Not The Point

"Why does this generation seek for a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
Mark 8:12 

We live in a show-me culture. We want receipts, data, and hard evidence before we commit to anything.  

The Pharisees were no different.  

They demanded a sign from heaven, not because they lacked evidence, but because they had already made up their minds.  

Two years of miracles, and they still wanted more proof.  

Jesus had healed the sick, fed thousands, and raised the dead. And still, they asked. 

Here is the uncomfortable truth: more evidence rarely produces more faith.  

Faith is not the reward you receive after God proves Himself. It is the posture you choose before He does.  

The Pharisees did not have a evidence problem. They had a heart problem.  

Jesus saw right through their request and refused to play along. 

The gospel has never been about undeniable proof. It has always been about radical trust.  

Jesus calls each of us to respond not to a miracle, but to His message.  

The resurrection is the only sign He promised, and it is more than enough.  

The empty tomb is God's final answer to every demand for proof.

Lord, forgive me for demanding proof when You have already given me everything I need in Your Word and the resurrection of Your Son. Help me choose trust over evidence today. Amen.
