The Main Mission
“He said to them, 'Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also; for that is what I came for.’ And He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out the demons.”
Mark 1:38-39
The crowds want more miracles. The disciples excitedly tell Jesus that everyone is looking for Him. But Jesus walks away from the sudden popularity. He tells His closest friends it is time to move on to the next town.
He did not come to put on a spectacular show or build a massive fan base. He came to preach.
Healing the sick and driving out demons were incredible signs. Yet these miracles served a much higher purpose.
Jesus performed them to force a decision. He preached so that lost people would hear the gospel and turn back to God.
Mark starts his entire book by declaring Jesus is the Son of God.
God the Father said it.
The Holy Spirit proved it.
Even the demons confessed it.
Jesus came to this earth so that you would say it too.
Jesus wants your surrendered heart, not just your applause. He desires true faith over temporary excitement.
Do you truly recognize Him as the Son of God? Let His message capture your mind today. Follow His perfect example and share that same life-saving truth with the people around you.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for showing us what truly matters. Help me to seek You not just for what You can do, but for who You are. Give me a heart that responds in faith, not just excitement. Use me to share Your truth with those around me, and help my life reflect Your mission each day. Amen.
