The Incomplete Jesus

"He gave them orders not to relate to anyone what they had seen, until the Son of Man rose from the dead.”
Mark 9:9

Have you ever met someone who had Jesus almost right?

They loved the miracles, the compassion, the teaching. But they quietly skipped over the cross.

The disciples were in that exact place. They had just witnessed the Transfiguration, the glory of God shining through human flesh, and they were ready to shout it from the rooftops.

Jesus said, "Not yet."

Why? Because a Jesus without the resurrection is not the gospel. He told them to wait until after He rose from the dead, because everything they would preach before that moment would be incomplete.

A glorious Messiah who never suffered and never died cannot save anyone.

The Transfiguration without the cross is just a light show.

The same danger exists today. It is easy to build a version of Jesus around the parts we like and quietly ignore what makes us uncomfortable.

But the Lamb of God and the transfigured Son of God are the same person.

You cannot separate them.

Ask yourself honestly: Is the Jesus you follow the full Jesus of Scripture?

Read Romans 10:9 today and let the whole gospel anchor your faith.

Prayer:

Father, keep me from settling for a partial Savior. Thank You that Jesus is both glorious and crucified, both risen and sufficient. Help me hold the full truth of who He is. In Jesus' name, Amen.
