Jesus Alone

"All at once they looked around and saw no one with them anymore, except Jesus alone.”
Mark 9:8

Moses left. Elijah left. The cloud lifted. And there stood Jesus.

Just Jesus. That was always the point.

Moses had a role. Elijah had a role. Both were significant. But neither could go to the cross. Neither could rise from the dead. Neither could ascend and send the Holy Spirit.

Only Jesus could do what needed to be done.

At the end of the most spectacular spiritual event these three disciples had ever witnessed, they were left with one thing: Jesus alone.

And that is enough. More than enough.

The Father said it plainly in verse seven: "This is My beloved Son, listen to Him!"

Not Moses. Not Elijah. Not your tradition, your feelings, or your experiences.

Listen to Jesus.

He is the word of God made flesh, the fulfillment of every promise, and the only one who can take you from the mountaintop all the way through the valley and into eternity.

Every great mountaintop moment in life eventually ends.

The conference closes. The worship song fades. The emotion settles. And then it is just you and Jesus.

That is not a letdown. That is the whole point.

He is the constant. He is what the glimpse was pointing to all along.

No matter how difficult it may seem or how risky it feels, never be ashamed of your relationship with Jesus.

And if you have never placed your faith in Him, today is the day. He is who He says He is. You need Him.

Prayer:

Jesus, You are enough. When the emotions fade and the experience ends, let me find You standing there, faithful and true. I fix my eyes on You alone. In Your name, Amen.
