Stretch Out Your Hand

"He said to the man, 'Stretch out your hand.' And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.”
Mark 3:5

Three simple words in the original Greek: "Stretch out your hand." No elaborate ceremony, no complex ritual, just a command that required faith to obey.

The man could have argued that his hand was useless, that stretching it out was impossible. Instead, he chose to act on Jesus' word before he saw the results.

This is how faith works. God asks us to do something that seems impossible with our current resources, and as we step out in obedience, He provides what we need.

The healing didn't happen before the stretching; it happened during the stretching.

The man had probably tried to use that hand thousands of times over the years. Every attempt ended in frustration and disappointment. But this time was different because Jesus had spoken.

The same voice that spoke the world into existence was now speaking restoration into his broken places.

We all have withered areas in our lives. Maybe it's a relationship that seems beyond repair, a dream that appears dead, or a habit that feels impossible to break.

God is calling you to stretch out your hand toward those impossible situations and trust Him to do what only He can do.

Identify one "withered" area in your life where you've given up hope.

Today, stretch out your hand toward that situation in prayer and obedience, trusting God to do what seems impossible.

Prayer:

Lord, I bring my withered places to You today. The areas where I've lost hope, where I've stopped trying, where I've accepted defeat. I hear You calling me to stretch out my hand in faith. Help me obey Your word even when I can't see how You'll work. I trust that Your power is made perfect in my weakness. Restore what seems impossible to restore. Amen.
