Get Up and Come Forward

"He said to the man with the withered hand, 'Get up and come forward!'"
Mark 3:3

Jesus could have healed the man right where he sat. Instead, He called him to the center of the synagogue where everyone could see. This wasn't about showing off, it was about making a statement.

Sometimes God calls us out of the shadows and into the spotlight, not to embarrass us, but to demonstrate His power.

The man had every reason to stay seated. His disability was visible and embarrassing. Standing up meant exposing his weakness to everyone present.

But when Jesus called, he responded with immediate obedience. He didn't know what would happen next, but he trusted the voice that called him forward.

That kind of faith requires courage.

It means being willing to look foolish in the eyes of others.

It means stepping out of your comfort zone when you can't see the outcome.

The man with the withered hand teaches us that sometimes we have to move toward Jesus before we experience His healing power.

Jesus is still calling people to "get up and come forward" today.

Maybe He's calling you to step out of the safety of the back row and into a life of bold faith.

Maybe He's asking you to leave behind the familiar and follow Him into the unknown.

Prayer:

Jesus, I hear You calling me to get up and come forward. Give me the courage to leave my comfort zone and trust You completely. Help me not to be paralyzed by fear of what others might think. I want to respond to Your voice with the same immediate obedience as the man with the withered hand. Lead me forward in faith. Amen.
