Power Over The Curse

When evening came, after the sun had set, they began bringing to Him all who were ill and those who were demon-possessed. And the whole city had gathered at the door. And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.”
Mark 1:32-34

The sun sets, and the whole city gathers at the door. They bring the sick and the demon-possessed straight to Jesus. Word travels fast. People desperately want relief from their pain. They see a miracle worker and want what He can do for them physically.

Jesus heals many, but He is doing much more than fixing temporary problems.

Every physical healing proves His ultimate power over the curse of sin. Sickness, disease, and suffering are tragic results of a broken world.

By driving out illness and demons, Jesus pushes back the darkness. He gives the crowd a powerful glimpse of heaven, a future reality where the curse is completely gone.

We often treat Jesus the same way today. We want quick relief from our daily struggles.

Jesus absolutely has the power to heal our physical bodies. He is our Great Physician.

However, His primary mission is to heal our hearts through the gospel.

Physical healing is temporary. Spiritual salvation lasts forever.

Bring your pain and suffering to Jesus today. Ask Him for relief, but trust Him most for the eternal healing of your soul.

Come to Him for who He is, not just for what He can fix.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your power over sickness, sin, and every curse. Remind me to seek You above all else, trusting not just in what You can do, but in who You are. Heal my heart, renew my faith, and help me rest in the eternal hope You give. Amen.
