Healed For A Purpose
“And immediately after they came out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was lying sick with a fever; and immediately they spoke to Jesus about her. And He came to her and raised her up, taking her by the hand, and the fever left her, and she waited on them.”
Mark 1:29-31
Jesus just finished teaching. He leaves the synagogue and walks straight into real life. Simon Peter's mother-in-law is sick in bed with a fever. The disciples do exactly what we should do when trouble hits.
They bring the problem straight to Jesus.
Notice the gentle but absolute power of Christ. He walks over, takes her by the hand, and lifts her up. The fever vanishes instantly.
But the most striking part of this story is what happens next.
She does not ask for a day to rest.
She does not take time to celebrate her recovery.
She gets up and immediately serves them.
Jesus heals with a purpose. He restores us so we can join His work.
When God pours His grace into your life, He equips you to give back.
Your spiritual and physical restoration is meant to lead directly into service.
Think about the ways Jesus has healed, helped, or saved you. Are you using that renewed strength to serve Him and the people around you?
Let your gratitude turn into action today. Start serving exactly where you are.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the ways You heal, restore, and strengthen me. Remind me that Your grace in my life always has a purpose. Amen.
