Holy Saturday
Friday was filled with blood, pain, and death. Sunday brings the ultimate victory. But right in the middle sits Saturday.
Saturday is defined by one single element.
Complete silence.
The disciples scattered in fear.
They locked their doors.
Their Messiah was dead.
The miracles had stopped.
Heaven went entirely quiet.
They did not know the joy of Sunday was only hours away. They only knew the agonizing silence of the present moment.
We all experience our own silent Saturdays.
You pray for a breakthrough, but you hear nothing.
You wait for healing, but the pain remains.
The silence feels heavy. It often feels like total abandonment.
But silence does not mean absence. While the disciples grieved, God was actively fulfilling His greatest promise.
The grave could not hold Jesus.
The dark tomb was simply a waiting room for the resurrection.
When God is silent, He is still working. We must learn to trust Him in the pause.
The waiting is incredibly difficult, but it is never wasted.
Sunday is coming.
Prayer:
Lord, waiting is hard. When heaven feels silent, our faith often wavers. Give us the strength to trust You in the spaces between our prayers and Your answers. Remind us that Your silence is never a sign of Your absence. Help us to rest in Your promises today, knowing that resurrection is always on the horizon. Amen.
