Going Home Changed

“And He did not let him, but He said to him, ‘Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.’ And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.”
Mark 5:19-20

The best missionaries are often those who simply tell others what Jesus has done for them.

The transformed man wanted to follow Jesus physically, but Jesus had a different plan.

"Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you."

Sometimes the hardest mission field is the place where people knew you before.

This man had no theological training. He hadn't attended seminary or completed a missions course.

All he had was a testimony: "I was lost, but now I'm found. I was bound, but now I'm free."

That simple message turned ten cities upside down.

Your family and friends might dismiss what pastors and evangelists tell them, but they can't argue with your changed life.

They knew you before Jesus. They can see you after Jesus. That transformation is your greatest sermon.

Stop waiting for perfect words or the right moment to share your faith. Start with your story.

Tell people what Jesus has done for you.

Be specific. Be honest. Let your transformed life do most of the talking, then use words when necessary.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for what You've done in my life. Help me never take Your grace for granted. Give me opportunities to share my testimony with those who need to hear it. Use my story to point others to You. Make my life a living testimony of Your goodness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
