Faith That Puts The Experts To Shame
"And He said to her, 'Because of this answer go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.' And going back to her home, she found the child lying on the bed, the demon having left.”
Mark 7:29–30
The religious leaders had the scrolls. The disciples had walked with Jesus for months.
But a Gentile woman with a sick daughter walked away with the miracle. Why?
Because she had what the others lacked: simple, unshakeable trust.
Mark strips this story down to its essentials. There's no dramatic confrontation, no elaborate ritual.
There is a woman who believed, and a Savior who responded to that belief.
Her faith pleased Him so much that He healed her daughter from a distance.
You don't need a seminary degree to move the heart of God. You don't need perfect theology or a spotless record.
You need the same thing this woman had: a clear-eyed conviction that Jesus is who He says He is, and that He can do what no one else can do.
The disciples were confused by the parables. The scribes were blinded by pride.
But this woman went home to find her daughter healed, simply because she took Jesus at His word.
Find one promise of God in Scripture today and pray it back to Him with confidence.
Don't dress it up. Don't overcomplicate it.
Just trust it.
Prayer:
Lord, grow my faith to be simple and strong. I don't want to be someone who knows about You but never fully trusts You. Help me take You at Your word today. Amen.
